Mike Lindell, the MyPillow CEO, kicked off his campaign for Minnesota governor this week. He shared his decision after what he called prayerful thought and encouragement from people around the state.

“I’m officially running for Governor of Minnesota. After prayerful consideration and hearing from so many of you across our great state, I’ve made the decision to enter the 2026 gubernatorial race. I’m still standing and I’ll stand for you,” Lindell posted on X.

Lindell will face other Republicans, including former state Sen. Scott Jensen, Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth, and state Rep. Kristin Robbins. The GOP primary takes place in August.

Incumbent Democrat, Gov. Tim Walz, reacted to the news by posting, “We’ve seen what happens when we elect a con man to the highest office in America. We can’t let it happen here in Minnesota,” on X.

Walz is running for a third term after winning against Jensen in 2022 by almost 8 points. Political watchers think the race favors Democrats right now.
