January 1, Media Covers for Leftist Violence After Kirk Killing

Wyatt’s Take

  • The media seems eager to downplay violence from left-wing groups while blaming conservatives.
  • A controversial researcher linked to Antifa is behind much of the data used by outlets like The Economist.
  • The numbers used to claim conservatives are more violent do not seem to add up once you look closer.

The mainstream press sure isn’t shy about spinning stories after conservatives are attacked. After the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, certain outlets jumped in to claim there’s no rising pattern of leftist violence in America, using studies created by folks many everyday Americans would question.

One such “expert” is Michael Loadenthal from the University of Cincinnati. This is a guy who has called himself militant Antifa, and he’s even given lessons on tracking and exposing people online, all under the banner of fighting “fascism.”

Loadenthal’s project, the “Prosecution Project,” claims to track political violence and says there’s more coming from the right. But Ryan James Girdusky, founder of 1776 Project PAC, points out the holes: the project lumps together all sorts of unrelated crimes and pins them on conservatives while ignoring major violence from groups like Antifa and BLM in the summer of 2020.

“You know what wasn’t counted as politically motivated violence… almost any of the arson, rapes, and murders from BLM and Antifa activists during the 2020 summer of love. Burning the police station in Minneapolis, the rape and assaults in the CHAZ zone, or the six deaths associated with the trans cult, the Zizians,” Girdusky wrote. “Left-wing violence isn’t violence, while anyone can be considered rightwing violence, even if it isn’t right-wing or particularly violent.”

Don’t let spin confuse you. Real numbers and real stories matter most when safety in our communities is at stake.
