January 1, Mayoral Candidate Vows to Eliminate Police Department
A Los Angeles mayoral candidate has reportedly pledged to eliminate the city’s police department.
Gina Viola, an activist who describes herself as an “abolitionist,” is one of the candidates hoping to replace Democratic Mayor Eric Garcetti in the city’s mayoral race in the June 7 primary.
While the front-runners in the primary, Rick Caruso and Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), have advocated bolstering the Los Angeles Police Department to address the city’s rising crime rates, Viola pledges to gradually eliminate the LAPD and divert the funding toward social services.
Viola is a member of “White People 4 Black Lives,” and several leaders of Black Lives Matter have supported her plan to eliminate the LAPD.
“I’m sorry, a vote for Rick Caruso is a vote for White supremacy,” Viola told the Los Angeles Times.
“White supremacy is codified into our legal system created to build White wealth, and law enforcement is its watchdog.”
A spokesperson for Caruso called Viola’s comments “disturbing.”

Disturbed people make disturbing comments. Politicians are generally disturbed because they have to be clever and deceitful to survive scrutiny. Any numbskull who wants to defund the police is clearly out of touch with reality of criminal activity around the nation. They don’t realize that by reducing policing, you increase crime. Seems like a simple truth to grasp; unless of course your are a raving lunatic that needs to be institutionalized until they watch ALL the crime footage of the last two years. That oughta cure them of this lunatic brain disease. Do NOT even consider voting for such a disturbed person to be a part of any government other than to be a janitor or a food service worker. YOUR life may depend on that lunatic making decisions. I wouldn’t trust her as far a I could throw her, and neither should any person of sound mind!

Unbelieable !!! What kind of violence does she think won’t happen without the police ?? Only people who have turned off their brains could think this. The police are our friends. If you obey the law and respect those who represent it you will not have trouble.
She is right about social services needed but eliminating the police is not the answer to that. Not all “white people” are supremist, only a small percentage and I resent being included with them just all “black people” must resent being lumped in with everything criminal. We are all God’s creations and should not forget that. Violence disrespects that and tears us apart.

Never under estimate the electorate. The people of California need to actually vet the people that they vote for and see actually what they stand for and hold them accountable. Politicians lie to get elected and then don’t live up to the promises that they have mad to the electorate to get elected. Until you folks in California wake up to the sanctuary cities that “hide” illegals are going to have to deal with high gas prices, high food prices and owning an electric vehicle when there is going to be brown outs and you won’t be able to re-charge your car. Fossil fuels will keep your state moving, but paying $6, $7 and even $8 gas will keep you from commuting to your jobs.

Hey Viola you think you have crime in you city now, you take the L.A.P.D out of the equation and leave all the nuts which there are plenty of and have no problem getting what they need to commit any crime they want and that number will double and run free and any person who’s skin isn’t white there lives WON’T MATTER and it won’t matter how many funds you divert to SOCIAL SERVICES. So what ever it is your smoking or sniffing you probably should start looking for a new dealer and forget politics. The fact that your a member of “white people 4 black lives” says to me you don’t care for the black live who work for the L.A.P.D or any other nationalities in this country, I would even bet your pro firearms of any kind for whoever want’s one. I know you could have come up with a better word or phrase then disturbing Rick, like nut, basket case, someone who’s a sandwich short of picnic, or where the hell did she come from mars, etc. because she is definitely out there, anyone who thinks taken the protection of a city away and replacing it with SOCIAL SERVICES has one of those phrases or something better written all over her. Did anyone stop to think this ‘woman’ may be the head of a large criminal group’ just waiting to abolish the police so they can Rob, kill who ever they don’t like, steal anything they want , walk into your house and kill you and take what ever they see…. she may be a criminal just waiting for her moment to take over and get what ever she wants including robbing banks…….. anyone who votes for her has to be one of her group.

Ms. Viola claims that “White supremacy is codified into our legal system created to build White wealth…” but has offered no specific legislation that shows that. I have read many laws developed in this once-great nation, and the only ones in effect today that mention race involve government contracts to minorities, or mention race as targets for hate crimes. I have found no laws that favor the majority over minorities, so I am curious as to just what laws she is referencing here. By the way, I am White, and Oprah and LeBron are both far wealthier than I am, so where did these laws created to build White wealth fail me?
