Mainstream Media Quietly Confirms Authenticity of Infamous Hunter Biden Laptop
The New York Times confirmed the authenticity of the infamous Hunter Biden laptop, which was eventually turned over to the FBI after he left in a Delaware repair shop in 2019.
The report, which centered on the investigation into Biden’s taxes and business dealings, noted that prosecutors had examined emails between Biden and business associates which “appear to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop” and “were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”
The article marks a stunning about-face from the outlet’s previous reporting, which dismissed the laptop story as “Russian disinformation” amid the 2020 presidential campaign.
The New York Post had its Twitter account suspended after tweeting its story on Biden’s laptop in October 2020. The Post reported that the laptop contained emails, text messages, photos, and financial documents that demonstrated how he used his political influence in his foreign business dealings.
In September 2021, the New York Times reported that the Post’s reporting was “unsubstantiated.” It later removed the word after facing backlash over the inaccurate characterization.
“Forgive the profanity, but you have got to be s–tting us,” the Post Editorial Board wrote. “First, the New York Times decides more than a year later that Hunter Biden’s business woes are worthy of a story. Then, deep in the piece, in passing, it notes that Hunter’s laptop is legitimate.”
“Authenticated!!! You don’t say. You mean, when a newspaper actually does reporting on a topic and doesn’t just try to whitewash coverage for Joe Biden, it discovers it’s actually true?”
