NBA star LeBron James took to Twitter to mock Kyle Rittenhouse’s recent emotional courtroom breakdown.

On Wednesday, Rittenhouse sobbed on the stand as he described the events leading up to the fatal shooting of the first man he killed on Aug. 25, 2020, Joseph Rosenbaum. Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder called a 10-minute recess so the defendant could compose himself.

“What tears?????” James wrote. “I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court.”

The post quickly garnered attention on the platform, with users adding more than 17,000 comments within a few hours. Many criticized the 36-year-old Lakers star for the tweet, finding it to be tone-deaf.

“LeBron James appears to be mocking people dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in this post. Why?” wrote Aaron Carpenter, a city councilman in Ohio.

“If you are suggesting he was somehow faking it, then he is a much better actor than you were in Space Jam,” wrote Dan O’Donnell, a radio host.
