January 1, Kimmel Yanked Off Air, FCC Fires Warning
Wyatt’s Take
- Jimmy Kimmel suspended by ABC after making false claims about Charlie Kirk’s death.
- FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warned ABC about their public obligations.
- Late-night TV faces tough business times as viewers tune out.
Jimmy Kimmel got pulled from ABC this week after making accusations against President Trump and conservatives over Charlie Kirk’s killing. Kimmel claimed, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”
Advertisers and major ABC affiliates pushed back, and Disney’s top execs yanked Kimmel’s show to avoid a bigger mess. Even as some on the left tried to spin the shooting as an inside-right attack, facts remain unclear and the network wasn’t about to let Kimmel double down live on air.
Brendan Carr from the FCC also weighed in, warning, “The FCC could make a strong argument that this is sort of an intentional effort to mislead the American people about a very core fundamental fact, a very important matter.” He reminded broadcasters that with power comes responsibility to the public, hinting there could be action if ABC didn’t shape up.
The real core is money: late-night talk shows don’t pull the young crowd anymore. Expensive hosts and costly productions can’t keep up if viewers walk away. Times are changing and the old business just isn’t working like it used to.

Wyatt Matters
When big networks lose sight of the truth and profit comes before public trust, everyday Americans get left behind. It’s a reminder that Main Street values matter more than corporate spin.

Johnny Carson and Jay Leno were the end of late night once gone. It is no longer light hearted banter. Replaced by over blown egos on all the so called shows. Kimmel and Colbert had no ethics or morals. The cruel streak, especially Kimmel is disgusting. He has no class, less dignity and rolls in a pig sty full of blatant lies anyone with a brain see’s through. Kimmel may rub shoulders with some low class politicians however I find him ignorant. He craves power. All he did was have the power to be taken down indefinetely. He is a talentless tool. I don’t know one person who watches him and I’m 78!
I miss the time of Dick Cavet…
