  • Kennedy challenged senators on vaccine safety and corruption allegations.
  • The hearing revealed sharp divides over healthcare and government transparency.

At a tense Senate hearing, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pushed back hard against Democrats following the firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez. Outside, Democrats called for his resignation, but inside, Kennedy faced their attacks head-on.

When Senator Ron Wyden accused Kennedy of endangering children, Kennedy directly challenged him on chronic disease and lack of action from lawmakers. Kennedy also pressed Senator Michael Bennet on vaccine safety, asking,

“Are you saying, Senator — that the mRNA has never been associated with myocarditis or pericarditis?”

Bennet would not answer, leading Kennedy to say,

“You’re evading the question.”

Throughout the two-hour hearing, Democrats interrupted and shouted, calling Kennedy “corrupt” and a “charlatan.” Kennedy stayed firm, denying Monarez’s claim that she was fired for refusing to pre-approve vaccine recommendations, and said under oath that he had witnesses for all official meetings.

Senator Elizabeth Warren criticized Kennedy for dropping the general COVID-19 vaccine recommendation, but Kennedy responded that vaccines remain widely available. He pointed to Warren’s past pharmaceutical donations and questioned her motives, highlighting the clash over who vaccines should be recommended for.

A new revelation came out that the Biden administration allegedly manipulated data about the abortion drug mifepristone. Kennedy also commented on Operation Warp Speed, saying it matched the original virus, likely saved lives, but did not stop later mutations.

Kennedy repeatedly accused Democrats of misrepresenting his statements and made clear he would not step down.
