Wyatt’s Take

  • Kamala Harris blames Trump for today’s high prices.
  • Americans faced record inflation under Biden and Harris.
  • Polls show people still struggle with the cost of living.

Kamala Harris called out Trump’s economic record at a Democratic meeting, blaming him for an “affordability crisis.” She insisted the American dream now feels out of reach for many.

“We must be honest that for so many, the American dream has become more of a myth than a reality,” Harris said. “Whether it’s the cost of food, energy, health care, transportation or housing, America is facing an affordability crisis, a crisis that we are witnessing is fueling a system [of] fear, frustration, and a lack of confidence in our systems.”

But inflation peaked at 9.1% in 2022, right under Biden and Harris. Gas and groceries also rose, while Biden claimed his policies made things better after leaving the White House.

Trump, during a Pennsylvania rally, praised his handling of the economy. However, some voters still worried about economic issues in polls.

Recent numbers show the Consumer Price Index rose 0.3% in September, climbing 3% over a year, with fuel prices dropping below $3 late in 2025. Grocery prices dipped in April, but folks are still paying more than they used to.

A new survey finds people remain uneasy about prices, though concerns have eased some since Biden took office.

Keep an eye on what politicians promise, but it’s clear most working folks feel the pinch no matter who’s in charge.
