January 1, Kamala Harris Embarks on National Crusade for Abortion ‘Freedoms’

Vice President Kamala Harris is launching a nationwide tour called the “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” to promote abortion access as President Biden’s 2024 team starts ramping up its campaign efforts.
The tour will begin in Wisconsin on January 22, the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, according to a statement from the White House. More dates and locations will be announced soon.
Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court case that legalized abortion nationwide, was overturned in June last year.
Harris said in a video message, “There is a full-on attack in our country against the ability of people to just make decisions about their own body and their life.”
She added in a statement, “Extremists across our country continue to wage a full-on attack against hard-won, hard-fought freedoms as they push their radical policies – from banning abortion in all 50 states and criminalizing doctors, to forcing women to travel out of state in order to get the care they need.”
The tour comes as polls show that for the first time, Americans view Harris more favorably than President Biden. A Monday poll from Monmouth University showed Biden with a 34% approval rating and Harris with a slightly higher 35% approval.
During the tour, Harris will host events that “highlight the harm caused by these abortion bans” and share “stories of those who have been impacted.”
Harris will also “hold extremists accountable” for proposing a national abortion ban and call on Congress to reestablish legalized abortion as provided by Roe v. Wade. The vice president will promote what the Biden administration is doing to preserve legal abortion and “urge attendees to use their voices and stay engaged in the fight for fundamental freedoms.”
In September, Harris went on a separate “Fight for Our Freedoms” college tour in eight states where she emphasized abortion, as well as gun laws, climate change, voting laws, LGBT issues, “teaching America’s full history,” and books restricted by certain school districts for what some parents say is inappropriate content.
Abortion has remained a hot button issue as the presidential election cycle heats up, especially in the wake of nearly two dozen state bans restricting abortion, some with very limited exceptions. Republicans have celebrated the pro-life movement’s recent victories, while Democrats have leaned into the abortion issue, hoping their efforts will yield voter backlash in 2024.
In 2020, there were more than 620,000 abortions across 47 states and the District of Columbia, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Guttmacher Institute puts the national total significantly higher at more than 930,000 abortions for 2020. A June Associated Press poll found that only half of Americans want abortion to be legal after 15 weeks, which is around the beginning of the second trimester.

This tour, coupled with Harris’s higher approval rating than President Biden’s, demonstrates the Democrats’ misguided priorities. As our nation faces numerous challenges, they choose to prioritize abortion access instead of addressing pressing issues that truly impact Americans’ lives.

It is so hard for me to understand something that just promotes SEX on demand. If I am correct in reading and listening to everything I can, many, many of the abortions are no more then getting rid of unwanted children. Also, to my knowledge, no woman would be denied one if it was dangerous for her to complete a pregnancy. So to me, the whole abortion thing boils down to people just wanting to have as much SEX as they want to. No silly interruptions like a pregnancy should interrupt their pregnancy.
It is so sad that they do not care as much about the fool/criminal/traitor doing his best to destroy our way of life with his war on fossil fuel! Maybe if he has his way (please God do not let this happen) when the abortion crazy group can’t get to their aborion because their electic car isn’t charged enough to do it, maybe they will get the message!!

I am a retired midwife and I feel most of these abortions are being used as birth control .If you want to have sex then you must be smart enough to know that a baby will be produced.If you don’t know that then abstain .

What a moron. She will go out on this tour and lie to Americans to their face about abortion. I’m sure she will start by blasting SCOTUS for taking away a woman’s right. This is the most egregious lie because women never had the right to an abortion under the Constitution. Liberal justices 50 years ago interpreted the Constitution incorrectly to suit their political agenda at the time and made abortions legal. It would be a staggering number to know how many babies were aborted following that decision to the present.
