  • Amid allegations of his involvement in a Ukrainian bribery scandal, President Biden made a joke about selling state secrets during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi, sparking concern and controversy.
  • The focus of the meeting was on collaborative efforts between the United States and India in technology development aimed at tackling climate change and other global challenges.
  • The President and his son, Hunter Biden, are accused of accepting a $5 million bribe each from the Ukrainian oil company, Burisma, with the incriminating “proof” reportedly being 17 audio recordings of conversations kept as an “insurance policy.”

Amid rising allegations of his involvement in a significant Ukrainian bribery scandal, President Joe Biden made a joke about selling state secrets to Prime Minister Modi of the Republic of India during a meeting on Friday.

This meeting, involving White House senior officials and technology company CEOs, centered on the United States’ relationship with India and joint ventures in technology development.

President Biden, setting an oddly lighthearted tone given the grave accusations against him, began his address to Prime Minister Modi saying, “I was just thanking the — anyway, I started off without you, and I sold a lot of state secrets and a lot of very important things that we shared.”

The audience laughed, but many observers couldn’t help but perceive an undercurrent of seriousness in the President’s jest, given his recent entanglement in a bribery scandal.

The meeting’s main focus was on the combined efforts of American and Indian astronauts, entrepreneurs, scientists, and students in innovating new technology to tackle climate change.

“It’s about exploring the universe. It’s about lifting people out of poverty; curing cancer and other serious diseases; preventing pandemics; and giving our citizens — all our citizens real opportunity,” Biden said during the meeting.

However, these forward-looking remarks were somewhat overshadowed by the current controversy Biden finds himself embroiled in.

The President is accused of accepting a $5 million bribe from Burisma, a Ukrainian oil company, during his time as vice president under Barack Obama.

The allegation also extends to his son, Hunter Biden, who served on Burisma’s board at the time.

The incriminating “proof” against the Bidens is said to be in the form of 17 audio recordings of conversations with Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Burisma, which were kept as an “insurance policy.”

Despite the President’s repeated denials, the FBI’s uncooperative stance with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena further fuels the controversy.

Lawmakers React to Biden’s Remark

A video clip of Biden’s eyebrow-raising remark was widely shared on social media, with many prominent figures weighing in on the matter.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tweeted: “Joe Biden’s brain is going and he’s literally admitting his crimes out loud. Impeach Biden! It’s unreal and so insulting to America.”

“If he has dementia, we need to use the 25th amendment! This can not be ignored anymore,” Greene wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Bottom Line

Given these serious accusations, President Biden’s joke about selling state secrets seemed to some observers less a light-hearted moment, and more an uncomfortable echo of the allegations of wrongdoing he currently faces.

Joe Biden will never be prosecuted for any crimes. He will plead insanity and we all know he is insane. They will say he is a duly elected President by the insane voters in our country with the help of billionaires who will do anything to have a power puppet they can control.
