Wyatt’s Take

  • ICE and Indiana State Police arrested over 145 illegal aliens driving semi-trucks.
  • More than 40 of them held Commercial Driver’s Licenses from sanctuary states.
  • Many arrested had serious criminal records.

ICE teamed up with Indiana State Police to arrest more than 145 illegal aliens who were driving semi-trucks. Over 40 of those drivers had Commercial Driver’s Licenses issued by sanctuary states like Illinois, California, and New York.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said, “Far too many innocent Americans have been killed by illegal aliens driving semi-trucks and big rigs.”

She credited Operation Midway Blitz for removing more than 140 illegal truck drivers from Indiana roads thanks to efforts by ICE and law enforcement. Many arrested had records including drunk driving, drug trafficking, assault, and even child abuse.

ICE Director Todd Lyons said, “Sanctuary policies like those in Illinois sadly don’t recognize borders, and ICE and the Indiana State Police have successfully arrested hundreds of illegal alien truck drivers who should not be operating on our highways.”

He added, “In recent weeks, we have seen illegal semi-truck drivers responsible for significant loss of life across the country. This was preventable, and that is precisely why we are working to ensure this doesn’t happen in Indiana or Illinois.”

Our roads and communities are safer when law enforcement works together to remove criminal elements.
