January 1, House Renames Gulf in Nod to American Pride

Hey there, folks! Big news from Washington: the GOP-led House just voted to give the Gulf of Mexico a new name—it’s now the Gulf of America! This is something President Trump wanted, and it’s about time we see it happening.
The vote was close, 211-206, but most Republicans supported this fantastic idea thanks to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia. Sadly, not every Republican agreed, like Rep. Don Bacon from Nebraska, who sided with the Democrats in thinking this wasn’t important. But we’re here to celebrate a new step honoring our great nation!
Marjorie Taylor Greene proudly mentioned this change respects the hardworking people and brave military folks who protect and build the economy around the Gulf. It’s a tribute to the American spirit.
Next, the bill goes to the Senate to make sure all laws, maps, and documents show the new name, “Gulf of America.” Pretty soon, it will be everywhere!
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wasn’t happy about it and called the change silly. Well, we think standing up for America is never silly!
Marjorie Greene fired back, saying this isn’t about just changing names; it’s about standing up against drug cartels and supporting the American people. Why give any credit to Mexico when we can celebrate our land and our waters?
Remember when President Trump started this great idea back in his first term? His goal was to shift focus from problems with Mexico, like the trade deficits and those cartels causing trouble. Right on his inauguration day, Trump made it clear: let’s call it the Gulf of America!
In February, flying on Air Force One to see the Super Bowl, Trump announced “Gulf of America Day.” What a moment! Bigger than any game, this marks a win for his Make America Great Again agenda. Even the Interior Secretary, Doug Burgum, proudly shared a new map showing off the Gulf of America.
Meanwhile, down in Mexico, their President Claudia Sheinbaum isn’t too bothered, as she thinks the world will still call it the Gulf of Mexico. But here in America, we’re proud to embrace our land!
Isn’t it awesome to see these steps towards American pride and strength? Let’s keep cheering for more great changes!

Changing the name from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America is a wonderful step towards showing our love for our country. It’s exciting to see our leaders in Washington making this happen. The House vote was close, but it’s great that most Republicans understood how important this is. Renaming the gulf honors the hardworking people who live and work there, as well as our brave military. It’s a strong symbol of American pride and spirit.
Some people might say this change isn’t necessary or think it’s silly, but standing up for America is never silly. This isn’t just about a name change; it’s about recognizing our land and our waters and the people who contribute to our country every day. When President Trump first talked about this idea, it was part of his plan to focus on how amazing America is and deal with tough issues like trade and security. Changing the name shows that we’re putting America first.
There’s a lot to look forward to as this change moves to the Senate. When all the maps and documents reflect “Gulf of America,” it will be a proud moment for us all. It’s important to keep celebrating steps like this that build national pride. While others, like Mexico, may not change what they call the gulf, what matters is how we feel about it here in America. Let’s keep supporting these changes and cheer for the pride and strength of our great nation!

ALL of the Americas may take pride. After all we are not America alone. Our country is not really called America. We are The United States “of” American. We are just a part of America. This pope is not the first American pope. That would have come from another America. Say it now. We are the United States of America. We now have a new pope first from The United States.
