January 1, Hospitals Hide Kids’ Gender Changes From Parents

Wyatt’s Take

  • Medical software is steering kids toward irreversible gender procedures.
  • Parents are being cut out of their children’s health choices by design.
  • Major companies are pushing this agenda without consent from families.

Big hospital chains and tech companies are making it easier for young kids to get life-changing gender treatments — and they’re doing it behind parents’ backs. Laws and software updates are being used to block moms and dads from seeing all their children’s medical records once they hit 12 or 13.

The Do No Harm report points out that electronic health records let hospitals keep parents in the dark about so-called “transitions,” using rules that originally were made for stuff like teen STDs or substance abuse. Now, those laws are twisted so doctors can hide gender changes and push kids toward things like puberty blockers, hormones, and even surgeries.

Michelle Havrilla and Dr. Kurt Miceli warn, “Confidentiality regulations are being used to hide aspects of pediatric medical transition, such as social transitioning and preferred pronouns of the child, as well as medications, from parents and guardians.”

Giant software makers like Epic and Oracle run most of the medical records for American hospitals. Both push questions on kids about “gender identity” and “pronouns,” triggering the start of transition talks — all without telling parents first.

Epic’s own website even brags that “questions about patients’ preferred pronouns, sex assigned at birth, and gender identity” are built into charts. Oracle defaults to taking away parent access at age 13.

These tricks aren’t just running in blue states. In Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana, hospitals using these systems lock parents out of health information once their child turns 12 or 13. The child has to “authorize” any access, or the parent stays in the dark.

The Do No Harm report calls out these quiet changes. Survey questions to children as young as 13 now include “What sex were you assigned at birth?” and options for pronouns that most kids — and adults — have never heard of. All this, while families are left with no say or warning.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America values faith, family, and protecting our children. When big business and lawmakers team up to keep parents from knowing what’s happening to their own kids in the doctor’s office, it’s an attack on those values. Our kids deserve better. Parents must stay vigilant and demand to be part of every big decision. The health of our next generation depends on it.
