January 1, Grand Jury Investigates 2016 Russia Collusion Claims
Wyatt’s Take
- The DOJ is finally taking action, launching a grand jury probe into claims of a coordinated effort to smear Trump with Russia collusion lies.
- Pam Bondi and Tulsi Gabbard are leading the charge, demanding answers and accountability from top officials.
- Everyday Americans deserve to know the truth about who tried to undermine our vote in 2016.
This week, word broke that the Department of Justice has ordered a grand jury investigation into allegations about a conspiracy to pin Russian collusion on Donald Trump back in 2016. Attorney General Pam Bondi signed off on the order, telling a federal prosecutor to take serious evidence to the grand jury relating to what looks like a political setup.
Fox News correspondent David Spunt said Bondi believes there is “clear cause for deep concern” and that it’s time for the next steps.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard had handed down multiple referrals asking DOJ to dig into high-level intelligence officials behind the now-discredited narrative. Spunt explained, “Fox is told Attorney General Bondi is taking the referrals from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard ‘very seriously.'”
Weeks earlier, Gabbard declassified a big 2020 report looking into the real origins of the Russia collusion story. That House report exposed how parts of Obama’s intelligence community pushed a narrative that Russia wanted Trump to win, but they left out key facts and built their case on shaky or even unverifiable evidence.
The report pulled back the curtain on how some powerful intelligence officials appear to have twisted findings to push this political hoax. In response, Gabbard sent the DOJ a criminal referral calling for a full investigation. She wrote, “Their goal was to usurp President Trump and subvert the will of the American people. No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The integrity of our democratic republic depends on it. We are turning over all documents to the DOJ for criminal referral.”
At this point, there have been no charges or indictments. Spunt reminded viewers, “This is incredibly early in the process. What we have here, is taking evidence the Justice Department believes it has, to a grand jury to secure an eventual indictment or indictments.” He also pointed out that grand juries are meant to be secret so the public might not know for a while who is testifying or what will happen next.
The DOJ declined to comment about the reported directive.
Wyatt Matters
For years, working Americans have watched as DC elites peddled the Russian collusion story while ignoring real concerns back home. It’s about time leaders stood up for average folks rather than playing political games behind closed doors. If there really was a plot to overturn the 2016 election and silence the voices of the heartland, every last person involved should be held accountable. The law has to apply the same to everyone—no matter how high up. Heartland Americans are tired of the double standard. Truth and justice matter, now more than ever.
