Wyatt’s Take

  • Fulton County can’t find key records for the 2020 election.
  • Officials admit thousands of votes lacked proper sign-off.
  • Regulations on who should get the records are unclear.

Fulton County in Georgia is catching heat again over missing ballot counting records from the 2020 election. State Election Board members now say they can’t find the “zero tapes” that prove counters started at zero.

These tapes are a basic tool for election honesty, confirming no votes are on the machine when counting begins. Not having these records raises big questions after officials already admitted failing to sign off on tapes for about 315,000 votes.

“The zero tape is like the beginning of a trip odometer,” one board member explained. It’s a simple way to show the ballot box starts empty and ends with a final tally.

The rules in Georgia are a tangled mess, with even the secretary of state’s office unsure if they should have gotten the tapes. Investigators looked everywhere but came up empty-handed.

Forms tell election workers to attach the zero tape and send different colored copies to different officials. But as of now, no one can say where Fulton County’s missing tapes ended up—if they were ever created at all.

This all comes after years of frustration with long lines, broken machines, and lack of trust. With federal investigators now looking at documents, folks in the heartland can’t help but wonder whether anyone in charge is willing or able to keep things honest.

The Democrat party had them all removed and destroyed just like they did with the January 6 records.

If election integrity cannot be achieved then people will start voting with bullets. They will be verifiable and people will vote often.
