Wyatt’s Take

  • Foreign citizens serving in U.S. government pose risks to American interests.
  • Biden appointees Ali and Sooknanan hold dual citizenship while making major judicial decisions.
  • Rep. Thomas Massie pushes for law forcing politicians to disclose foreign ties.

Many Americans are worried that people with foreign loyalty are making important decisions in our country. Recent Biden appointees, still holding citizenship elsewhere, serve as federal judges and stir up controversy over where their true loyalties lie.

Trinidad and Tobago citizen Sparkle Leah Sooknanan and Canadian citizen Amir Hatem Mahdy Ali have both made rulings that critics say go against America’s best interests. Sooknanan even blocked the return of trafficked Guatemalan children, despite their home country’s government begging for them back.

“These smuggled migrant children were orphaned in America by the Biden Administration. The minors have all self-reported that their parents are back home in Guatemala. But a Democrat judge is refusing to let them reunify with their parents.”

“The government of Guatemala has formally requested their return. And there are tens of thousands more smuggled minors orphaned in America by the Biden Administration that Democrats are refusing to allow back home with their families.”

Sooknanan is also known for helping label concerned parents “domestic terrorists.” She and Ali were rushed through Senate approval after the last election, putting them in key positions despite big questions about their allegiance.

Ali’s first moves included ordering billions in foreign aid without knowing where it went. The funding cut out groups like USAID, which has been accused of backing radical projects overseas.

Not everyone born abroad is a problem. Judge James Ho, naturalized as a kid and devoted to the Constitution, stands out as an example of true American commitment.

The issue reaches beyond judges. Several members of Congress keep ties or even citizenship with other countries. Rep. Thomas Massie and others are now demanding that all candidates at least disclose any other citizenships they hold.

“Dual citizens elected to the United States Congress should renounce citizenship in all other countries. At a minimum, they should disclose their citizenship in other countries and abstain from votes specifically benefitting those countries. If we are going to continue to allow Members of Congress to acquire and retain citizenship in other countries, they should at least be required to disclose to voters all countries of which they consider themselves to be citizens.”

Americans deserve leaders who put our country and our people first, with no question about where their loyalty stands.

Wyatt Matters

America’s strength depends on leaders who answer only to the people who built this country. We need policies that demand loyalty to America alone, making sure our government truly stands up for Middle America and its values.
