The FBI has raided two biolabs, one in Reedley, California, and another inside a Las Vegas garage. Both are connected to Jia Bei Zhu, a Chinese national facing trial for fraud, false statements, and illegal medical activity.

The Las Vegas raid led to the arrest of Ori Salomon, who managed the property for Zhu’s company. Officials say Zhu and his partner, now in China, also own the California lab.

“An illegal bio lab was just raided in Vegas,” said Rep. Kevin Kiley, “and it is directly linked to the secret Chinese lab found in California in 2023, which was oozing with E. Coli, HIV, and Malaria.”

Both labs share ownership through David Destiny Discovery LLC. They reportedly held dangerous disease samples and counterfeit COVID-19 tests. Congress alleges Zhu has ties to the Chinese Communist Party and a history of running unlicensed labs.

The Department of Justice charged Zhu last November for distributing adulterated medical devices. In August 2024, Zhu and his partner Zhaoyan Wang were charged with wire fraud.

The Las Vegas lab was confirmed by property and police records as being managed by Salomon, who now faces state and federal charges, including illegal firearm possession. Sheriffs say Salomon acted as the property manager for both sites.

Court documents reveal Zhu repeatedly tried to use the Las Vegas home as bail collateral, naming Salomon as a proposed custodian. Authorities believe this move may have been a ploy for Zhu and his partner to flee to China.

Police suspect Wang has access to security cameras at the Vegas house. Officials named Zhu as a suspect in both state investigations.
