January 1, EXPOSED: What Red States Are Teaching Kids While Blue States Push Critical Race Theory

Wyatt’s Take
- Red states are fighting back against woke indoctrination by bringing real American history and civic education back to classrooms
- Trump’s Department of Education is funding patriotic education programs that teach kids to love their country instead of hate it
- While leftist states push divisive garbage like Critical Race Theory, conservative states are doubling down on traditional values and national pride
While Democrat-run states continue pushing radical curriculum that teaches children to hate America, conservative states are leading a nationwide revival of patriotic education. The movement is gaining momentum as parents reject the left’s divisive agenda in favor of teaching kids what made this country great.
The Trump administration’s Department of Education awarded grants in 2025 specifically designed to promote civic education rooted in American founding principles. These federal dollars are going toward programs that teach students about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the exceptional nature of American liberty — concepts that have been under assault in liberal classrooms for years.
“We should ask a simple question: Do our students understand the history, principles, and sacrifices that made 250 years of American freedom possible?”

Red state governors aren’t waiting for Washington to fix the problem. Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and Utah have all taken bold action to advance patriotic themes within their education systems, sending a clear message that indoctrination stops at their borders.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been at the forefront of this education revolution, banning Critical Race Theory and ensuring that students learn accurate American history instead of revisionist propaganda. Texas has followed suit with curriculum standards that emphasize American exceptionalism and the contributions of the Founding Fathers.
Louisiana and Utah have implemented similar reforms, requiring civics courses that focus on constitutional principles and the responsibilities of citizenship. These states understand what coastal elites refuse to acknowledge: kids need to learn why America is worth defending, not why it should be torn down.
The contrast couldn’t be starker. In blue states like California and New York, students are being taught to view America through the lens of oppression and systemic racism. Teachers unions in these states have fought tooth and nail to preserve curriculum that portrays the country as fundamentally flawed and illegitimate.
Parents across America are waking up to the damage this does to young minds. When children are taught to be ashamed of their country, they grow up disconnected from the principles that keep free societies functioning. Conservative states are betting that a return to patriotic education will produce engaged citizens who understand their rights and responsibilities.
The federal grants supporting civic education represent a major shift from the Obama and Biden years, when the Department of Education pushed progressive social engineering at every turn. Under Trump’s leadership, the department is finally supporting programs that strengthen rather than undermine American identity.
Critics on the left predictably claim that patriotic education amounts to propaganda or whitewashing history. But teaching students to appreciate their country’s founding principles while honestly addressing its complex history isn’t propaganda — it’s balance. The real propaganda is convincing an entire generation that America is uniquely evil.
These state-level reforms are already showing results. Students in Florida and Texas report higher levels of civic knowledge and engagement compared to their peers in progressive states. They’re learning how government actually works instead of spending class time on gender ideology and climate activism.
The fight over education is really a fight over the future of the country. If the left succeeds in raising a generation that views America as systemically oppressive, the constitutional republic won’t survive. Conservative states understand the stakes and are acting accordingly.
Wyatt Matters
This is about more than textbooks and lesson plans — it’s about whether our kids grow up proud to be Americans or ashamed of their heritage. Red states are proving you can teach honest history while still celebrating what makes this country exceptional. For families in the heartland who believe in traditional values and love of country, these reforms offer hope that the next generation won’t be lost to woke indoctrination. The future belongs to whoever controls the classroom, and conservatives are finally fighting back.
