A heartbreaking search for an eight-month pregnant woman in Houston ended in tragedy this week. Ashanti Allen was found dead after vanishing from her home during a high-risk pregnancy.

The victim’s father described his daughter as a normal, hard-working young woman with a bright future ahead of her.

“We were hoping for the best, but now we’ve heard the worst,” Edward Allen said.

He told reporters that he has been numb ever since learning the fate of his only daughter.

“I love my baby girl. Only girl, my baby girl. And then she had my only baby grandson,” he stated.

Allen had already prepared for her new arrival by purchasing baby clothes and supplies.

“She’s just a normal girl, pretty girl, working and trying to live life,” her father added.

The family is now pleading for anyone with information to come forward to help catch those responsible.
