Erika Kirk, recently widowed, broke her silence with a strong message after her husband’s assassination. She thanked first responders and recognized leaders who paid tribute to her late husband.

She credited law enforcement for responding quickly and catching the killer. Erika also made it clear that her husband’s work is not finished.

She expressed gratitude for those who cared for her family, including Vice President JD Vance and his wife. Erika said her late husband “loved what he did,” and made it known that their children and her were at the core of his life.

Faith was a main theme, as Erika shared her certainty that her husband had joined his Savior. She said,

“Two days ago, my husband went to see the face of his Savior and his God… Now, and for all eternity, he will stand at his Savior’s side wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”

She recalled how her husband cherished simple joys, from sports to family traditions. Erika described him as a devoted father and husband who gave everything for his loved ones and his country.

Addressing those behind the tragedy, Erika said,

“They should all know this, if you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea, you have no idea what you just unleashed across this country.”
