The National Weather Service says New Jersey and Delaware shorelines are most at risk, especially where the Delaware Bay meets the ocean.

Conditions may bring

flooding and leave roads under water, with some communities dealing with forced evacuations and homes getting soaked.

Flood watches are out, expecting high waves and water above usual levels. Forecasters are also warning about dangerous erosion and breached dunes.

Storm winds could gust up to 60 mph, especially along the shoreline, worsening the pounding surf.

Ferry service has already halted in some places like Fire Island, New York.

It won’t just be the shore either—communities far from the beaches could face flash flooding from soaking rains.

Some spots could receive up to five inches of rain.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the threat runs from Virginia up to southern New England, making Sunday and Monday dangerous for folks up and down the coast.
