January 1, Dorian Will Be a Historic Labor Day Hurricane for Florida

Good morning Middle Americans! 

Florida is starring down a monster storm of historic proportions. The National Hurricane Center upgraded Dorian to Category 2 at 11 pm EDT Thursday, with top sustained winds now up to 105 mph.

“Unfortunately, I don’t see any large-scale factors that would prevent Dorian from becoming an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane during the next few days,” said NHC hurricane specialist Eric Blake in an 11 pm forecast discussion. Pray for Florida. We’ll keep you posted with updates from the National Hurricane center. 

Meanwhile, the Inspector General from the Department of Justice slammed former FBI director James Comey for setting a “dangerous example” by leaking sensitive information to the media.  Many of president Trump’s supporters were hoping for criminal charges.  Also today, Joe Biden should maybe just stop talking altogether.  His latest gaffe, if you can even call it that, is quite a doozy.  And the Dallas police detected who was escorting presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald has died at the age of 99.  Read all about it.

Comey Violated FBI Policies in Handling of Memos

(AP) – “By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and by using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees — and the many thousands more former FBI employees — who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information,” according to the report from DOJ’s inspector general.

Biden Repeatedly Jumbles Story of Military Heroism

(Washington Post) – Joe Biden last week told a poignant tale of a Navy captain who retrieved the body of a comrade, and humbly refused the Silver Star that Biden pinned on him for his heroism in Afghanistan because the soldier had died.

But based on interviews with more than a dozen U.S. troops, their commanders and Biden campaign officials, it appears the former vice president mixed elements of three real events into one story that never happened, The Washington Post reported.

Dallas Detective Photographed Escorting Lee Harvey Oswald Dies

(Reuters) – Jim Leavelle, the Dallas police detective who handcuffed himself to Lee Harvey Oswald in a vain attempt to protect him two days after Oswald had assassinated President John Kennedy, died on Thursday at age 99, his daughter said.
