January 1, DeSantis Responds to Trump’s Criticism: I Was Reelected

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1870: Iowa ratifies the 15th Amendment of the United States Constitution, allowing suffrage for all races and ethnicities.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis responded to former President Donald Trump’s criticism of his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that he won a substantial reelection victory.

During a press conference in Bradenton, Florida, DeSantis was asked about Trump’s recent jabs at him.

“I roll out of bed, I have people attacking me from all angles, it’s been happening for many, many years,” DeSantis responded.

“The good thing is, is that the people are able to render a judgment on that whether they re-elect you or not. And I’m happy to say — you know in my case — not only did we win re-election, we won with the highest percentage of the vote that any Republican governor candidate has had in the history of the state of Florida. … That verdict has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida.”

During campaign stops over the weekend, Trump took a few swings at DeSantis. Trump accused the governor of “trying to rewrite history” regarding his response to the pandemic, including his decision to permit lockdowns in the beginning stages and that he “promoted the vaccine as much as anyone.”

Trump also addressed the possibility of DeSantis entering the 2024 presidential race, saying: “When I hear that he might [run] I think it’s very disloyal.”

So far, Trump is the only major Republican candidate to enter the race. POLITICO noted that DeSantis will likely join the race later this year, possibly in or around May, after the Florida Legislature’s annual session.

Yes he did because he secured the elections in FL. If anyone believes the last two elections were honest they have a screw loose. Country wide our elections need to be secured. Look at that joke of an election in AZ.

I think front line republican politicians need to maintain solidarity even when running for the same office. Instead of trying to knock the other guy out with sucker punches why not show your best hand as to why we should vote for you and let the people decide. Then support the winner with all you have. That includes both Desantis and Trump, and all other politicians for that matter. I think its a huge mistake to run negative campaigns in the primaries and then shift gears after the elections. It leaves scars and fodder for future criticism and negative opinions.

YES BUT, GET DOWN GOOGLE, NOT BY THE UNITED STATES. GOVERNOR DESANTIS, YOU ARE A GREAT GOVERNOR SIR. BUT IT IS JUST NOT YOUR TIME YET. PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS BEEN THROUGH THE FIRE AND HAS FOUR LONG YEARS WHICH WILL ALLOW HIM TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. YOU WOULD HAVE A FOUR YEAR LEARNING CURVE TO CATCH UP TO HIM, AND WE HAVE BEEN SUFFERING MUCH TOO LONG ALREADY. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL HE FINISHES HIS ADMINISRATION BEFORE YOU RUN, BECAUSE IF YOU DO YOU WILL BOTH LOOSE AND HAND IT TO THE DEMOCRATS. HE IS GODS MAN OF THE HOUR, SO PLOEASE SUPPORT HIM.

I agree with the other posts, because, Elon Musk has already proven the 2020 election was stolen. Trump was re-elected by the people, however, the political FRAUD stole the election & those who wanted Biden so badly, are reaping what they sowed. It really feels good to them, now. They knew all the crimes, prior, to the 2020 election, but, were so stupid, because, money bought them off.
The King James version of the Bible says, “The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.” Look what that love has produced & how it has destroyed America.
