Good Morning Middle Americans,

President Trump has said many times over the last couple of weeks that he would like to have his inner circle testify during the next phase of the impeachment process. He’s even said he would like to as well. We are about how serious he is about that. And don’t forget we heard that during the Mueller probe as well. I’m guess the president is going to avoid testifying, unless he has to.

Also today, President Trump is blasting the coverage of his Thanksgiving trip to Afghanistan. Newsweek had pre-written a story about Trump playing golf and tweeting over the holiday. Of course, now we know, he did a lot more than that.

Finally today we have a story about a woman who was the oldest living American up until recently. Sadly, she died recently, but she’s left quite a legacy.

Rep. Nadler Sets Deadline for White House to Say If It Will Take Part in Impeachment hearings

(The Hill) – House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) has informed President Trump that he has until Dec. 6 to let the committee know whether his counsel will participate in upcoming impeachment proceedings.

“I am writing to determine if your counsel will … participate in the upcoming impeachment proceedings. In particular, please provide the Committee notice of whether your counsel intends to participate, specifying which of the privileges your counsel seeks to exercise, no later than 5:00 p.m. on December 6, 2019,” Nadler wrote to Trump in a letter dated Friday.

The notice follows a Monday letter from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to Democratic lawmakers saying that the committees leading the impeachment inquiry are putting together a report for the Judiciary Committee that they hope to send after members return from Thanksgiving.

Trump Blasts Newsweek Over Coverage of Afghan Trip

(New York Post) – President Trump slammed Newsweek over its story on his Thanksgiving plans, which the mag said would include “tweeting, golfing and more” — before he ended up making a surprise visit to US troops in Afghanistan.

“I thought Newsweek was out of business?” the president wrote, quote-tweeting his son Donald Trump Jr.’s photo of the commander in chief serving Thanksgiving dinner to the service members at Bagram Airfield, north of Kabul.

Attached to the image was a screenshot of Newsweek’s Thursday morning story, with the headline: “How is Trump spending Thanksgiving? Tweeting, golfing and more.”

The report began, “As with any other day of the year, Trump will probably be tweeting, or expressing his opinions in another way.”

“Fake news gonna fake!” Trump Jr. wrote.
