January 1, Democrat Representative Attacked at Sundance Event

Wyatt’s Take
- A Florida congressman says he was assaulted during a film festival party.
- The attacker reportedly shouted racist remarks and referenced deportation.
- Security and police quickly responded and made an arrest.
Rep. Maxwell Frost of Florida says he was punched by a man at a private event during the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. The man reportedly made racially charged comments and claimed former President Trump would “deport” the congressman before the attack.
“He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay,” Frost wrote.
The suspect was not invited to the party and forced his way inside before the assault happened. Security and Park City police responded and handled the incident.
These kinds of attacks show the nastiness that can brew under the surface. Folks want safe communities where this kind of thing doesn’t happen at local get-togethers.
Wyatt Matters
No one should fear violence or insults at public events. Heartland families expect safety and respect in their communities.
