January 1, Dave Chappelle Attacked During Performance in Los Angeles [Video]

An armed man rushed the stage and attacked comedian Dave Chappelle during his performance at the Hollywood Bowl.

Video footage shows Chappelle performing as part of the “Netflix Is A Joke” festival when a man rushes the stage and tackles him.

The attacker then gets up and attempts to flee as a group of people chase after him. He got around the large screen on the stage when, according to eyewitnesses, “the mob caught up with him and beat the crap out of him, stomping on him.”

Chappelle then continues with his show, joking about the scary incident.

At one point, Chris Rock joined Chappelle onstage and quipped: “Was that Will Smith?”

Law enforcement officials said that the alleged attacker, 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, pointed a replica gun with a knife affixed to the barrel at Chappelle as he rushed toward him.

The LAPD arrested Lee on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon. He’s currently being held on a $30,000 bond.
