Wyatt’s Take

  • Benson served on the SPLC board from 2014 to 2019 during the alleged fraud.
  • Federal prosecutors claim the group paid millions to extremist informants.
  • The SPLC has previously targeted parent groups and religious organizations.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has long been a weapon for the left to attack good people. Now, a grand jury says they were allegedly using donor cash to fund the very extremists they claim to hate.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson sat on their board while this was supposedly happening.

It is funny how people who lecture us about democracy are often tied to the shadiest operations.

The Department of Justice recently handed down 11 counts against the SPLC for wire fraud and money laundering.

Prosecutors say the group misled donors while funneling money to leaders of racist organizations.

“Unbeknownst to donors, some of their donated money was being used to fund the leaders and organizers of racist groups,” the indictment states.

Benson is currently running for governor in Michigan and has used her time at the SPLC to build her political brand.

She claims her work helped stop violence, but the group she led is now facing serious criminal charges.

The SPLC is known for putting peaceful conservative groups on “hate maps” used by radicals.

This is the same organization that once employed a lawyer who ended up facing domestic terrorism charges.

Hardworking families are tired of these self-appointed moral authorities who act like they are above the law.

If these allegations are true, it shows the whole operation was a scam designed to enrich activists and smear conservatives.
