January 1, Colorado Woman Sentenced for Fake Election Votes
Wyatt’s Take
- A Colorado woman was found guilty of casting votes for her dead ex-husband and son.
- She was convicted on multiple counts of forgery and pretending to be another voter.
- The district attorney promised harsh action against anyone who cheats elections.
A jury in Castle Rock, Colorado, found Elizabeth Ann Davis guilty of voter fraud for mailing in ballots for her deceased ex-husband and her son in the 2022 election. Davis, 61, also sent in her own ballot, leading to convictions for forgery and impersonating another voter.
The district attorney shared that Davis had a lengthy record with past crimes like forgery, theft, and drug offenses in both Colorado and Florida.
“Those who seek to corrupt our elections or dilute our votes – by even a single ballot – will find a DA’s office intent on their incarceration,” District Attorney George Brauchler said.
The prosecution pointed out that Davis did not seem to learn from her old mistakes or from going to court before. Sentencing will happen on January 9, 2026. She could face probation or up to three years in prison.
Wyatt Matters
Election honesty is at the core of trust in our country. Folks want to know their vote means something and isn’t being watered down by cheating. We need strong consequences for anyone messing with our choices at the ballot box.
