January 1, CNN’s Don Lemon Blasted Over ‘Sexist’ Comments [VIDEO]
CNN’s Don Lemon was noticeably absent from CNN This Morning on Friday — just one day after he sparked backlash with his on-air remarks about Nikki Haley.
On Wednesday, Haley announced that she’s running for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. During her candidacy announcement, Haley called for mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old. Her statement was an apparent shot at President Joe Biden, 80.
Lemon criticized Hayley’s comments during Thursday’s CNN This Morning broadcast.
“This whole talk about age makes me uncomfortable,” Lemon told co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. “I think it’s the wrong road to go down. She says people, you know, politicians are suddenly not in their prime. Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime. Sorry, when a woman is in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s.”
Lemon’s remarks quickly sparked backlash on social media — and immediate pushback from his co-hosts.
“Wait … prime for what?” asked Harlow, 41.
Lemon told Harlow and viewers to “Google it” and not to “shoot the messenger.”
“I’m just saying what the facts are. Google it. Everybody at home, ‘when is a woman in her prime,’ it says 20s, 30s, and 40s,” he said. “And I’m just saying Nikki Haley should be careful about saying that politicians are not in their prime, and they need to be in their prime when they serve. Because she wouldn’t be in her prime according to Google or whatever it is.”
Haley, a former ambassador to the United Nations, is 51. Lemon is 56.
Sources said that Harlow walked off the set following Lemon’s comments, per the New York Post. Harlow took a “well-timed” bathroom break and was followed into the restroom by Collins.
Lemon apologized for his comments via Twitter.
“The reference I made to a woman’s ‘prime’ this morning was inartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it,” Lemon tweeted on Thursday afternoon. “A woman’s age doesn’t define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day.”
Critics were unmoved by Lemon’s apology, including Haley herself.
“To be clear, I am NOT calling for competency tests for Sexist middle-aged CNN anchors; only for people who make our laws and are 75+,” she responded.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) called it the “worst apology ever.”
“Predictable. And worst apology ever. [Don Lemon] Try the words, ‘I’m sorry…for being a left-wing misogynist,'” Cruz wrote.
At the top of Friday morning’s broadcast, Collins said, “Don has the day off.”

Besides being sexist, this fool would be gone if he were “white” but, the racists at cnn will continue to put up with his comments since they are failing and can’t do what has to be done to regain some semblance of being a real news media outlet vs. that of a mouthpiece for the democratic administration and the fools that support them.

It’s about time that Mr. Lemon should start getting his mouth washed out with Castile Soap. It won’t stop him from being a complete jerk-off, but, it might give him second thoughts on what he should say on-air

Give the guy a break, Don was right – don’t shoot the messenger! Men and women have different prime as it deals with ones health and DNA. It is a shame if Lemon is let go because he is too good to lose. I can see him going to Newsnation if CNN lets him go.

CNN is and always has been a left-wing mouthpiece to bolster a socialistic/communist agenda. Anyone who speaks out against a democrat politician or radical socialist agenda, is referred to by CNN anchors, as a racist, homophobic or other term used to try and demean that person. In reality, Don Lemon is like most of the other CNN anchors, a racist. To say blacks cannot be racists is like most of the CNN news, Bull Shit. They won’t let Don Lemon go because he is a hall mark of CNN one sided news. CNN, like most other major news outlets, it comes across as anti-American left wing who open their mouths and stick their feet in. Good riddance to Don Lemon and all of CNN, for that matter.
