  • Paramount tops Netflix bid for Warner Bros. Discovery.
  • Merger talk rattles biased newsroom elites.

Employees at CNN worry big time about their network’s future. Paramount won the bidding war against Netflix with $31 a share for Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns CNN.

CNN’s Brian Stelter wonders if new CEO David Ellison will keep CNN’s so-called editorial freedom. Ellison’s dad, Oracle founder Larry, backed Trump with fundraisers and White House visits.

“Well, number one, nothing changes today, nothing changes tomorrow, no changes right away,” Stelter said on air.

“I’m told Paramount would like to take control of the Warner assets this fall, but some states attorney generals, they might throw up roadblocks.”

Paramount folks admire CNN’s reach but eye merging it with CBS News. That idea floated for years but never stuck.

David Ellison fixed CBS flubs after Trump gripes, hired Bari Weiss to run news. She axed the race unit, hosted Turning Point USA events, and shifted style guides.

He sat at the State of the Union with Sen. Lindsey Graham.

“CNN employees and viewers have real concerns about whether Paramount CEO David Ellison will uphold the editorial independence that CNN is known for,” Stelter claimed.

“Last December, Trump said, ‘It’s imperative that CNN be sold.’”

CNN trails in ratings with under a million primetime viewers versus millions at Fox. Still pulls in nearly $2 billion revenue yearly.

Folks, cheer this shake-up bringing balance back to news. Tell your buddies real change is coming.

All those CNN opinion givers (they’re not news reporters) are worried that they’ll have to stick to reporting the news and leave their opinions to themselves and they won’t be able to handle that.

Yep, they’re afraid that they’ll have to find real jobs ‘cause the gig is over. Everything has a lifetime to it and ‘News Fabrication’ may soon be in its death throes . . .

As my late father used to say (going past President Trumps designation of fake news )

CNN stands for COMMUNIST NEWS NETWORK
