January 1, Chicago’s Controversial Budget Sparks Heated Public Reactions
Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago just passed a new budget, but it sure got people riled up. Residents weren’t happy because they say a lot of the budget goes to help migrants, and they made a lot of noise about it. At a city meeting about the 2025 budget, folks got so loud that the mayor had to pause everything. Police had to step in and calm things down so the council could finally vote.
It took Mayor Johnson six weeks of hard talking to get just enough votes to pass his budget plan. One good thing that came out of it is they got rid of a $300 million property tax that would have hit people hard. But, there’s also a $40 million loan in the plan, which means the city has more debt. That’s what got many people at the meeting upset. One person said, “You’re spending all this money on illegal immigrants!” Another worried about keeping the city safe.
Some folks think hiring and paying a bunch of staff is wasting money too. Someone on TV said Johnson hired over 100 people, and they all make a lot of money. Plus, one of those people, Alderman Burnett, has a rough past but still gets paid a lot for a job that doesn’t really have any duties!
President Trump’s team is also keeping an eye on Chicago. Tom Homan, who’s going to be in charge of border matters, said Chicago needs to shape up. He warned that the city might see a lot of deportations soon if things don’t change. He even said they’ll take action against anyone who tries to stop them.
It’s a big deal, folks, and it looks like Chicago is going to be in the spotlight.
Wyatt Matters!
It’s important for a city’s budget to reflect the needs of all its residents, and the recent Chicago budget has brought up a lot of concerns. Many people are worried because they feel the budget focuses too much on helping migrants. This has made some residents upset, and they showed their frustration at a city meeting. It’s understandable to want to make sure everyone in the city is taken care of, but it’s also vital to think about how funds are being distributed and if it’s fair to everyone.
Mayor Johnson’s effort to pass the budget wasn’t easy, and while he did manage to avoid a $300 million property tax, the new plan includes a big loan. This means more debt for the city, which is worrisome for many people. Some residents are also concerned that spending on staff salaries is too high. It’s important for the city’s leaders to explain why these spending choices are being made, especially when some people feel the money could be better used to keep the city safe and support its current residents.
There’s also a broader concern about how this situation puts Chicago in the national spotlight. With comments from people like Tom Homan, who plans to tackle border issues, there is added pressure on the city. It’s crucial for the city’s leaders to work on balancing the needs of all its residents while being mindful of both local and national implications. The hope is for decisions that protect everyone’s interests and ensure Chicago can thrive peacefully and fairly.

Why do Chicagoans continually vote in corrupt democrats? Three reasons. 1) They believe the “campaign promises.” They haven’t figured out that campaign promise is just another way of saying lies. 2) They do not try to track any democrat effort to actually fulfill their “campaign promises.” Hint: the dems make NO effort to do them. and 3) Chicagoans haven’t had a free and fair election from the 1930s. Since that time the democrat machine has ensured democrat control over the city and its population. We can’t get rid of them short of a revolution.

And wow the Chicago police are being killed almost daily yet they can’t stand up to and even arrest people in a town meeting / council meeting for speaking out against a mayor and council who obviously do not care about the law enforcement community???? Really guys ???? That’s how you “help” your citizens??? Your mayor illegally had you as police officers “throw out citizens “ at this OPEN PUBLIC MEETING!!! Come on guys be part of the solution not the problem! Your mayor and council hat you , they despise law enforcement officers and don’t care what happens to you !!
