Ontario’s premier is pulling a pricey ad campaign aimed at Americans after President Trump pushed back hard. Doug Ford says he’s pausing the $75 million anti-tariff effort that featured Ronald Reagan’s old radio remarks.
The move comes after Trump called out Canada for running the ad, blasting it as fake and politically motivated.

Trump said on Truth Social that Ontario’s ad “fraudulently used an advertisement, which is FAKE, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about Tariffs.”
The foundation that runs Reagan’s legacy says Ontario didn’t have permission to use his voice and might pursue legal action. They also urged people to see Reagan’s full comments for context.

Ford’s team plans to air the ad during the World Series before shutting it down on Monday, hoping talks with the U.S. can restart soon.
