January 1, Bondi Faces Fire Over Epstein Files Release

Wyatt’s Take
- Pam Bondi stood her ground defending the DOJ’s release of Epstein documents.
- Lawmakers argued over privacy risks, victim protections, and government transparency.
- Survivors and politicians questioned whether justice will really be served.
Pam Bondi faced tough questions in Washington about how the Department of Justice handled the massive dump of Jeffrey Epstein files. The hearing was heated, with accusations of government spying and anger from Epstein’s victims for not protecting their identities.
The DOJ released more than 3 million documents. Lawmakers got to see full, unredacted versions just this week.
Some Democrats warned this could put privacy at risk. Survivors accused the DOJ of carelessly sharing their most painful secrets with the world.
The Trump team moved quickly to release these files because the public—both Democrats and Republicans—demanded action. Even so, survivors said the DOJ had a duty to better protect their personal details and photos.
Representative Jamie Raskin introduced some of Epstein’s survivors to the committee, urging a focus on the victims and real accountability for the crimes.
“To promote justice for the people, you’ve got to listen to the victims like the women seated behind you today.”
“Those are just some of the hundreds of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s global sex trafficking ring who are demanding that the truth be told. They’re demanding accountability for the abusers who trafficked and raped them,” Raskin said.
Bondi responded that the DOJ had worked overtime to review millions of pages as required by law and tried to keep victims’ details safe.
She apologized to the survivors present and said they tried to fix any mistakes when notified.
“Monster,” she said.
“More than 500 attorneys and reviewers spent thousands of hours painstakingly reviewing millions of pages to comply with congress’s law. We’ve released more than 3 million pages, including 180,000 images all to the public, while doing our very best in the timeframe allotted by the legislation to protect victims,” Bondi explained.
She encouraged anyone with information about abusers to speak up, promising that any reports would be taken seriously.
“If you have any information to share with law enforcement about anyone who has hurt you or abused you, the FBI is waiting to hear from you. I want you to know that any accusations of criminal wrongdoing will be taken seriously and investigated,” she added.
The tension increased when Rep. Jared Moskowitz mocked a binder on Bondi’s desk, suggesting the DOJ was watching lawmakers.
“Burn book,” Moskowitz said.
Bondi fired back as tempers flared.
“Washed-up,” she said.
Photographers caught images of a sheet labeled “Jayapal Pramila Search History,” hinting the DOJ tracked which files were viewed by specific lawmakers.
“It is totally inappropriate and against the separation of powers for the DOJ to surveil us as we search the Epstein files,” Jayapal said in a statement.
Under questioning, Bondi downplayed hopes of fresh prosecutions, saying there isn’t a secret client list that would bring sweeping new charges.
Survivors were left frustrated by her answers and the lack of further accountability.
Things hit a nerve when survivors raised their hands to show they hadn’t even met with DOJ officials about their cases.
When pressed to apologize directly for exposing victims’ private data, Bondi called it showmanship and shifted blame to past leadership.
The hearing also discussed Ghislaine Maxwell’s prison transfer, with Bondi saying she was only informed after the fact and expressing hope that justice is served.
Wyatt Matters
Mistakes from the political elite shouldn’t trample on victim dignity or our right to real, open justice. Heartland communities know transparency matters, and people in power must be held to the same standards as everyone else.

Ludicrous that the democrats would have a SINGLE WORD to say about the work the current DOJ completed with the Epstein Files. The DEMOCRATS sat on these files for four long years doing nothing and whispering amongst themselves that the plan was to wait and see, then they got their ass whipped in 24 then they had this alleged ace in the hole that would blame the GOP for the entire crime! What a joke! #AmericaFirst #EpsteinIsDead

I’m so sick of the Democrat’s and the RINO’s. These people Bitched and Moaned and Cried on TV Every Day Screaming For Them to Release the Files Now. As Soon as They Did They Start Screaming That They Released Too Much. It’s All BS. They Should Have Released Every Single Thing They Had From the Beginning, UNREDACTED! The Victims and From Can’t Have it Both Ways. There Was NO POSSIBLE WAY that the DOJ could have Redacted and Reviewed Everything in the Time Allotted. Dems Say on this for YEARS and DIDN’T RELEASE THE FIRST FILE!

Yesterday they were complaining about a lot of the files were redacted that were supposed to be unredacted. Now they’re complaining about the redactions. No matter what, they are not going to be satisfied. If they hadn’t sat on the files for the last 4 years and hid many from the new admin., who are still finding files, none of this crap would be happening to begin with and we’d be further along.

Bondi needs to get her head out of her behind, only redact the victims names and release the rest of the files unredacted!! And do it without telling anyone ahead of time!!!
