January 1, Bishop’s Bold Stand on Immigration Sparks Debate

Published

on

Wow, folks, we’ve got something wild happening out in California. So there’s a big conversation going on about immigration and church. A bishop named Alberto Rojas in San Bernardino came out and told people who are here illegally that they don’t have to go to church on Sunday if they’re scared of getting picked up by immigration officers.

Now, our guy Tom Homan, who’s in charge of borders for the White House, says this is nonsense! He’s not happy. He told The Daily Wire that he hasn’t heard of anyone being arrested at church. And you know what? He’s right. Churches should be safe spaces, but not when they’re being used as excuses.

This whole thing comes after President Trump made some big changes to immigration rules. He got rid of a rule that said immigration officers couldn’t go into sensitive places like churches. But let me tell you, nobody’s busting into churches to grab innocent folks. They’re going after bad guys, like dangerous criminals or gang members.

And listen, the big government people at Homeland Security even said they’d only go into a church if someone really dangerous was hiding in there. So, it sounds like they’re being pretty careful.

The church folks in San Bernardino didn’t say anything back to The Daily Wire yet. But, folks, we’ve got to stick to common sense here. We need to protect our country and make sure the laws are fair for everyone. That’s how we keep America strong!

Wyatt Matters!

There is a big discussion happening in California about immigration and the role of the church. A bishop named Alberto Rojas told people who are living in the country illegally that they don’t have to attend church if they are afraid of being taken by immigration officers. This has caused quite a stir, as church is often seen as a safe place for everyone, and telling people to avoid it seems unusual.

Tom Homan, who is in charge of border matters for the White House, thinks the concern is exaggerated. He says he’s never heard of anyone being arrested at church. He believes that churches should remain safe, but should not be used as excuses to hide people breaking the law. This issue has come up after President Trump changed some important immigration rules, no longer stopping officers from going into “sensitive” places like churches. However, enforcement actions in such places would still likely focus on dangerous individuals, rather than just anyone without papers.

The church officials have not yet responded to inquiries from The Daily Wire. It’s essential to balance protecting the country with fairness and compassion. If immigration officers are really being careful and are only looking for dangerous people, then maybe the worry is misplaced. It’s crucial to ensure that laws are properly enforced while also keeping safe spaces truly safe for everyone. This helps maintain fairness and security, which are important values for the nation.

As our loyal readers, we encourage you to share your thoughts and opinions on this issue. Let your voice be heard and join the discussion below.

I think he’ overstepped his provision. Separation state from church.

It sounds to me like he’s actually separating his church from the government, not the other way around! In other words, “Don’t lead ICE to my parish. Keep your immigration problems away from the church.”

You are dreaming if you think these raids are limited to criminals. People with scheduled hearings who are law abiding and trying to do the right thing are detained and removed from immigration courts. That used to be considered a zone of protection, too. I stand with the bishop.

ICE respects no one – not even those who can prove that they have a legal right to be here! Most of these are law abiding citizens who are working and contributing to the labor shortage we have. They are being abused! STOP these unlawful tactics before you get picked up with some lame excuse and spent time in jail too.!!!

If they were “law abiding”, they wouldn’t be here.

As soon as they crossed the border illegally they were no longer law abiding. So there’s that.

So doing things that way would take years and years to stop this crap.
How many more murders rapes and the like are you inviting?? Biden did this for votes and this is what we got! And no, they are not singling out innocent people, BUT sometimes they are caught up in it. Why?because thats where murders and rapist hang out because they know Ice isn’t going out after innocent people. Wise up.

I have yet to hear any of our religious leaders call out corrupt foreign despots who deny their people education and progress.

If ICE is bad, try the IRS. Remember Biden’s threat to set theIRS after anyone he wants. Therefore, it followed on church groups or Traditional Catholics.

Whoa! Law-abiding—if they are here–legally. To be an immigrant or legal Resident, it means you have a green card. Illegal aliens do NOT deserve the term Immigrant. C’mon folks, get it right!
