January 1, Biden Pardons Thousands of Criminals in Sweeping Executive Action

President Joe Biden announced that he’s pardoning all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession.
“As I’ve said before, no one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana,” Biden said Thursday.
The president outlined his plan in a series of tweets:
First: I’m pardoning all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. There are thousands of people who were previously convicted of simple possession who may be denied employment, housing, or educational opportunities as a result. My pardon will remove this burden. Second: I’m calling on governors to pardon simple state marijuana possession offenses. Just as no one should be in a federal prison solely for possessing marijuana, no one should be in a local jail or state prison for that reason, either. Third: We classify marijuana at the same level as heroin – and more serious than fentanyl. It makes no sense. I’m asking [Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra] and the Attorney General to initiate the process of reviewing how marijuana is scheduled under federal law.
Biden noted that “as federal and state regulations change, we still need important limitations on trafficking, marketing, and underage sales of marijuana.”
“Sending people to jail for possessing marijuana has upended too many lives – for conduct that is legal in many states. That’s before you address the clear racial disparities around prosecution and conviction,” Biden said. “Today, we begin to right these wrongs.”

I think this is the ONE & ONLY good thing BIDEN has EVER, or WILL ever have done! I don’t believe in incarceration for marijuana either! It’s a stupid law, win 3/4 of the country has legalized it in states but the federal government still does not! I am in agreement with this one, but Biden is still the worst president in American history!

I’m opposed to drug laws in principal, the war on drugs has always been a war on the American people, and a revenue scheme. How free are you if you can’t decide what to put into your body? I personally don’t do any drugs, and I recommend that other people not use drugs, but this is not being done as a blow against governmental over reach, and the nanny state…
No, this is simply a way for Dems to buy votes, and increase their base – any idiot can see this. Felons can’t vote – if you restore the rights of millions of felons then you have a new voting block that is beholding to the democrats. It is no accident that he did this just before the midterms.
And as always these frigging racists tie in the race angle… Kamala Harris has probably thrown more people in jail for smoking/possessing pot than any other prosecutor in the country – what a bunch of hypocrites.
