Brian Hooker says the couple was returning to their sailboat when Lynette fell from the dinghy during rough conditions.

He said it has been ten days since they were together, the longest stretch they have ever spent apart.

“It’s been 10 days, it’s been a long time, I don’t think I’ve ever been apart from her in 25 years for this long,” Brian said.

Family members say Lynette was a strong swimmer and question how she could drown in shallow water.

They also point to a 2015 domestic incident that left Lynette with a black eye.

“I think they loved each other, but they were not good for each other,” her mother Darlene Hamlett said.

Hamlett said she had long feared a tragic call could eventually come because of the couple’s volatile lifestyle.

Brian denies wrongdoing and says he only wants to find Lynette.

“I said I’d never harm Lynette, and I never would harm Lynette, and I want to find Lynette,” he said.

As the search continues, her daughter is traveling to the Bahamas for answers.

The community is left wondering whether justice will ever be served in this disappearance.
