January 1, Armed Hero Stops Active Shooter

An armed woman saved lives when she fatally shot a man who had opened fire with an AR-15-style rifle into a crowd of partygoers in West Virginia.
Police said that Dennis Butler was killed after he pulled out the rifle and started shooting at the dozens of people gathered for a birthday-graduation party outside of an apartment complex in Charleston.
The woman, one of the attendees, pulled out a pistol and fatally shot Butler, 37. No one else was injured.
“Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett said.
After killing Butler, the woman waited for police to arrive and fully cooperated with the investigation.
No charges will be filed against the woman, Hazelett said.

Take a look at his photo (google his name). His kind is not noted for being a good shot. Most low intelligence criminals don’t spend time at the firing range since they aren’t supposed to possess firearms to begin with (he was a felon with an extensive rap sheet). The woman, on the other hand, obviously took gun ownership seriously and knew her abilities. The perp was pissed because people complained about him speeding through an apartment complex, so he returned with a gun and THOUGHT he was going to take revenge – instead KARMA stepped in!

Jane, you and Eric are obviously members of the democrat/COMMUNIST PARTY USA. Brainwashed into believing that the weapon possessed magical capabilities to the point that everyone around it should’ve been killed. Maybe he just didn’t load it with smart bullets, you know, the ones that never miss. Clearly neither of you know anything about firearms. Keep watching cnn or msnbc, though. Maybe some day they’ll tell the truth about….something….anything….?

David, you can stop taking your STUPID PILLS now. The ones you already took, have done their job well.
I do know a lot about firearms. US Military, carried four firearms on my body when I was a gunship helicopter pilot in Vietnam. In the course of that war I killed men with my .38 Special, my Model 1911 Colt .45 semi-automatic, my issued 5.56 mm CAR-15 and the 40 mm M-79 grenade launcher – all carried on my person when I flew. I killed men with them and would have died without them. In every case they were CLOSE when I killed each of them. This was the result of excellent training, persistent training and knowledge that my copilot and I were seconds from death, each time I pulled the trigger.
I am a VERY LIBERAL Democrat and NOT a communist.

Hmm… now, I’m not one for silly conspiracy theories but… two mass shootings then an attempt at another one, but this time there just so happened to be a solid, hero marksman in the crowd? A hero marksman with a one shot kill? A shooter who, I think, is the only person in recent decades who “opened fire on a crowd” and hit nothing but air with an AR-15? I mean, wa-hoo and all, but there does seem to be a lot of details missing.

My son-in-law and daughter live in Charleston and while I am not a democrat I also thought this to be somewhat weird that he did not hit anyone. It turns out that the lady saw him coming with the gun and before he could get some good shots in she took him out. I do agree that this needs to happen more so these crazy gun shooters will think twice.
