“Quality health care starts with quality food,” Kennedy stated during his Florida tour.
He noted that these actions are essential to improving patient outcomes and preventing chronic disease across the country.
This shift de-emphasizes empty calories and added sugars that have fueled the metabolic health crisis.
“By connecting hospitals directly with local farmers, we’re not just improving meals; we’re rebuilding a care model that treats nutrition as essential medicine,” Oz said.
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson praised the move as a victory for domestic supply chains and local economies. The plan ensures that taxpayer dollars support American farmers rather than corporate food processors.
Hospitals are now required to update their diet manuals and procurement practices to meet these stricter standards.
Failure to comply could put their eligibility for federal reimbursement at serious risk.

If I saw those 2 men wealking toward me to talk, I think I would be speechless. I eat well but still eat sweets. My weight is 116 this AM. I am 5’4″ tall and in my 80’s. Health is ok.
