January 1, US Weapons in Terrorist Hands? House Republicans Demand Answers
House Republicans are sounding the alarm over potential diversion of American-made weapons to Hamas, a known terrorist organization.
The looming question: Has U.S. aid indirectly empowered our enemies?
In a forthright letter addressed to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) pressed for transparency, seeking a detailed briefing on measures to prevent our military aid from falling into the wrong hands.
They stated, “The Committee has seen reports that U.S.-manufactured weapons are being redistributed and resold in secondary markets to terrorist organizations, including Hamas.”
These concerns were heightened after Ukrainian intelligence authorities hinted at the alarming possibility of Russia arming Hamas using American weapons seized in Ukraine. Notably, the U.S. has funneled over $45 billion in military assistance to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion.
Even the Israel Defense Forces had their alarms ringing. Prior to the latest Hamas assault on Israel, an IDF commander expressed apprehension that the terror group had acquired U.S. weapons, potentially sourced from Afghanistan.
Let’s not forget: the Taliban rapidly expanded their arsenal with weapons abandoned by U.S. forces during the messy exit from Afghanistan in 2021.
President Joe Biden’s grand proposal to Congress for a hefty spending bill, earmarking over $65 billion for Ukraine and Israel, has Republicans worried.
Concerns revolve around the proper oversight of this weaponry and financial aid, especially given the Biden administration’s track record with past assistance to Ukraine.
The recent Hamas assault on Israel has stirred bipartisan urgency for bolstering Israel, but Biden’s plan to link this aid to Ukrainian assistance might tangle the funding’s politics.
In their letter, House Oversight Republicans stipulated an Oct. 30 deadline for a briefing on “DOD procedures for preventing, addressing, and mitigating weapon diversion abroad.”
Republicans haven’t held back their criticisms. From scrutinizing the botched Afghanistan withdrawal to probing the Biden administration’s oversight of Ukrainian aid, they’ve kept the pressure on.
Biden’s approach to Iran, a staunch Hamas ally, hasn’t escaped GOP ire either. With Biden releasing $6 billion of frozen Iranian oil proceeds recently — ostensibly to negotiate the release of American hostages — Republicans argue this emboldens Iran, a nation that reveled in recent aggressions against Israel.
Moreover, GOP members are poised to challenge Biden’s commitment to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, wary that Hamas could easily reroute such resources to fuel attacks against Israel.

Let’s not forget that tRUMP promised the withdrawal of all troops from Afghanistan by May 1. 2021 and made the withdrawal agreement with the Taliban (NOT the Afghanistan government) to free 5,000 imprisoned Taliban solders. The Taliban never kept any part of the agreement made by tRUMP to cease attacking Afghanistan gov’t forces and even made al-Qaeda terrorists part of their leadership. Furthermore, the full Agreement was never revealed (2 additional terms were not released). The Taliban’s goal was to create an Islamic government in Afghanistan and kept fighting (even though it was part of the tRUMP Agreement to cease until all American’s were out of the country). The American military equipment left in Afghanistan was disabled and no good to the Taliban. It was impossible to remove all the equipment from the country given the deadline date set forth of September 11. The Taliban insisted on the tRUMP date of May 1, 2021 for ALL U.S. troops to withdraw (even though they were not living up to THEIR part of the Agreement) so there were only 2500 U.S. troops left in Afghanistan when Biden took office…hardly enough to defend against Taliban & al-Qaeda forces, let alone take military equipment.
The blame for U.S. equipment falling into the hands of Russian troops in the Russia/Ukraine War cannot be blamed on the U.S. Once the military aid is given to Ukraine, it becomes their equipment. Russia defeating Ukraine forces and taking possession of the weapons is a part of the war, just as it is in ANY war. If MTG & James Cormer think they have a plan to prevent our military equipment falling into enemy hands. I’m sure the Defense Department and Secretary Austin would love to hear it!

Oh REALLY! I’ve taken more than one look around and I see gas prices coming down (I never blamed tRUMP or Biden on the rising gas prices…although MAGA Republican’ts have; it is a world-wide occurrence), infrastructure building & repairs, unemployment numbers going down, addressing the need for gun reform and getting some results. Look around the country when tRUMP was President; I saw protests (a lot leading to violence), tens of thousands of people dying from Covid without any action from tRUMP (except the suggestion to ingest bleach), a rise of the White Nationalists and other hate groups, an insurrection whereby Congress Members’ lives were put in danger (with calls to “kill Mike Pence”), our Capitol Building was destroyed & our Capitol Police were attacked resulting in some having permanent disabilities (two committed suicide), protestors getting hurt (some by their fellow protestors). You are looking through hateful lenses, my friend.

I’m still convinced that the purposeful abandonment of the huge cache of American weapons and material in Afghanistan by FJB was done as a side-deal with Iran to compensate them for the ‘Iran Deal’ that Trump cancelled during his administration. Soros (who is really in charge) knew full well that those weapons would be transferred to terror groups around the world and eventually used against Israelis and Americans (which they are). As with obama (another Soros puppet), these people are actively working against the best interests of America and endangering American lives.
