January 1, Woke Insanity: European Cities Ban Booze While Streets Reek

Wyatt’s Take

  • Leftist mayors are banning alcohol sales in French train stations while ignoring the real cause of crime and disorder
  • Radical immigrants and far-left policies have created parallel societies that reject traditional European customs like drinking wine
  • Conservative Europeans are fighting back against the filth and entitlement that socialist policies have brought to once-clean cities

Europe used to have a reputation for smelling a little ripe after a long night out. People would laugh it off with a glass of wine or a cold beer. That old joke does not hold up anymore when neighborhoods ban the very drinks that kept the old customs alive.

Mayor Bally Bagayoko of Saint-Denis just ordered alcohol sales stopped inside the local train station from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. The ban is meant to cut down on late-night trouble, yet residents who lived nearby say the real problems come from soft policing and imported cultural clashes, not from folks buying a nightcap.

“there will be an overall mingling of cultures and civilisations that may lead, as far as France is concerned, to the emergence of a predominantly African population and to rapid Islamization.”

The French demographer Jean-Claude Chesnais made that warning years ago. Practicing Muslims do not drink, so as their numbers grow, the old habit of grabbing a bottle of Bordeaux after dark starts to feel out of place. What begins as a curfew on sales can turn into a broader squeeze on the customs of the host country.

Across the border in Spain, thousands of activists have taken over Puerta del Sol in Madrid. The camp started as a housing protest but quickly turned into a showcase of unwashed protesters waving Palestinian flags and refusing basic hygiene. Locals now call them “subsidized, dirty Spain” while waving shampoo bottles and Spanish flags to shame the squatters.

“the Spain that works and showers”

The same pattern shows up wherever long-running leftist policies mix with open borders. Streets fill with garbage, public services break down, and basic norms like regular showers or a glass of wine after work get treated as offensive. France, Spain, and Britain all face the same result: parallel societies that push out the old ways and replace them with new rules nobody voted for.

Every time a mayor bans a drink or a camp refuses to wash, working people see the same truth. Socialism and mass migration do not mix with the habits that built Europe. If voters want to keep the wine flowing and the streets clean, they have to reject the red-green deal that brought the mess in the first place.

Wyatt Matters

Middle Americans know you cannot keep the good life if you keep inviting in the people and policies that tear it down. Clean streets, cold beer, and the right to enjoy both without apology are worth defending at the ballot box.
