Wyatt’s Take

  • President Trump correctly labels Abdul El-Sayed a jihadist and the media melts down
  • El-Sayed’s family ties and Muslim Brotherhood links raise real national security concerns
  • Michigan voters deserve straight answers about a candidate who refuses to condemn Islamic terror

President Trump has been hitting Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed hard at rallies, calling him “Mohamed” and “Abdul Ramadan” while labeling him a jihadist. The attacks have the liberal media in full meltdown mode, with outlets scrambling to defend El-Sayed from legitimate questions about his ties to radical Islam.

On BBC, Stephen Kent laid out the facts. He explained that El-Sayed has never clearly outlined which Islamic terror groups he opposes and pointed to his weak response when a van rammed into a Jewish kindergarten.

“This is something that is actually important and plays into the zeitgeist of this campaign — this entire campaign with Mike Rogers has been about whether or not El-Sayed has been clear enough on his associations, family ties, and affinity for the Muslim Brotherhood and foreign terrorism from Islamic groups. I have never heard from him a very clear layout of what kind of Islamic terrorism he objects to, and when someone runs a van into a Jewish kindergarten, his response to that is ‘hurt people, hurt people’ — people have valid questions about whether or not he is warm to Islamic terror, and ‘jihadist’ is a word to communicate that.”

The BBC host tried to dismiss the concerns, claiming El-Sayed had apologized and there was no evidence he was a jihadist. But Kent pointed to court records from the Holy Land Foundation case showing the Muslim Brotherhood’s own plan for a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” to destroy Western civilization from within.

The memo states plainly: “The process of settlement is a Civilization-Jihadist Process with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

El-Sayed’s own half-sister has admitted the family has long been Muslim Brotherhood. His refusal to clearly reject these ties should concern every Michigan voter worried about national security.

Calling out radical Islamic ideology is not the same as attacking all Muslims. When terrorists struck Bondi Beach in Sydney, a Muslim bystander heroically stopped one of the gunmen. The distinction matters.

El-Sayed’s links to the Muslim Brotherhood are well documented. Voters have every right to know where he stands on groups that seek to undermine American values from within.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America expects candidates to put this country first. When politicians dodge questions about ties to groups that want to replace our way of life, working families deserve straight answers, not media cover-ups.
