  • A sitting ambassador stands accused of trying to shake down a Trump donor to cover a six-figure personal debt.
  • Senate Republicans say an investigation is coming and the public deserves straight answers.
  • President Trump and Secretary Rubio are reportedly furious and weighing a fast exit.

Kimberly Guilfoyle is facing a Senate probe after a Wall Street Journal report claimed she pressured a major Trump donor to pay off a $100,000 American Express bill before she was confirmed as ambassador to Greece.

The donor, Eric Deters, says he never made the payment, but the report claims Guilfoyle told him to wire the money straight to the credit-card company and skip any paper trail.

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso appeared on CBS News’ Face the Nation and called the allegations troubling.

“What we’ve seen in the reports is very troubling, it’s concerning.”

“And I’m sure there’s gonna be an investigation.”

Barrasso said the State Department and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will both look into the matter.

“I would assume the State Department would be conducting that. I know the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will have oversight and look into that, as well. But I think the public has a right to know what was found, and it is quite a bit of concern.”

Guilfoyle was confirmed by the Senate last year for the post in Athens. The State Department’s inspector general already opened a separate probe into earlier claims of staff mistreatment, luxury spending, and improper gifts.

According to The Associated Press, President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are weighing her removal after the latest story surfaced.

Rubio pushed back on the reporting, saying, “You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something, and you reported it, it’s the gospel.”

“It’s not the gospel,” Rubio said. “It’s not the gospel for me. That’s not the way we do things.”

Guilfoyle has been in it before. The woman spent 50k on a basketball court at her house. She’s a woman who has to live lavishly. Why do you think they shipped her off to Greece. She needs to be removed!
