January 1, SABOTAGE: Two GOP Senators Derail Trump’s Attorney General Pick

Wyatt’s Take

  • Republican senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis just handed Democrats a gift-wrapped victory by blocking Trump’s AG nominee Todd Blanche
  • These so-called Republicans are doing the left’s dirty work, stalling a key Trump appointment right when America needs law and order leadership most
  • This is exactly why voters are fed up with establishment Republicans who cave to the swamp instead of standing with the people who elected them

The Senate Judiciary Committee was supposed to vote on confirming Todd Blanche as Attorney General. Instead, a full-blown standoff inside the Republican Party has ground everything to a halt.

Two GOP senators — John Cornyn from Texas and Thom Tillis from North Carolina — are leading the charge against President Trump’s pick for the nation’s top law enforcement job.

Republican disquiet over the nomination has now spilled into public view. The planned confirmation vote has been postponed indefinitely.

Blanche has been a fierce defender of Trump’s America First agenda. He’s exactly the kind of prosecutor conservatives have been waiting for — someone who won’t weaponize the Justice Department against parents at school board meetings or patriots exercising their First Amendment rights.

But Cornyn and Tillis aren’t having it. Both senators are on their way out of office, and it shows.

When you’re not facing voters again, it’s easy to stab your own party in the back. That’s what’s happening right now in Washington.

Democrats couldn’t be happier. They don’t have to lift a finger while Republicans do their obstruction for them.

The whole charade exposes the real divide in the GOP. On one side, you’ve got Trump loyalists who want to drain the swamp and restore law and order. On the other side, you’ve got establishment Republicans who care more about cocktail parties in Georgetown than the hardworking Americans getting crushed by crime and chaos.

Cornyn and Tillis claim they have “concerns” about Blanche. What concerns, exactly? That he’ll actually prosecute criminals instead of coddling them? That he’ll defend the Constitution instead of shredding it?

The American people deserve answers, not backroom games.

With both senators retiring, they don’t have to worry about angry voters back home. But the rest of the Republican Party will pay the price for this circus when midterms roll around.

Every day Todd Blanche sits in limbo is another day the Justice Department operates without strong conservative leadership. Every delay is another victory for the radical left.

Meanwhile, crime continues to surge in Democrat-run cities. The border remains wide open. And Republicans are too busy fighting each other to fight for the country.

Wyatt Matters

This is what drives Middle America crazy about Washington. Voters sent Republicans to the Senate to confirm Trump’s nominees and restore sanity to our government. Instead, they get sabotage from their own team. When career politicians stop caring about the folks back home, they stop representing anyone but themselves. That’s not public service — that’s betrayal.

They call them “lame ducks”. But, in this case they should be labeled “lame cockroaches”.
