January 1, Radical House Democrat Refuses July 4th Question — Gives Jaw-Dropping Answer Instead

When Fox News asked House Democrats a simple July 4th question — are you proud to be American? — the answers revealed everything wrong with today’s radical Left.

Most Democrats couldn’t manage a clean yes without attacking President Trump. But one Texas congressman went further — refusing to answer at all.

Rep. Al Green wouldn’t explain why he’s proud to be American. Instead, he launched straight into impeachment talk.

“I am very proud to tell you that impeachment is an option to remove a reckless, ruthless, lawless president.”

“I’m proud that it exists,” Green added.

That’s right — on Independence Day, this Democrat celebrated impeachment instead of America. Let that sink in.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, another Texas Democrat, echoed the hysteria.

“I believe Americans are ready to defend our democracy and oppose authoritarianism so that we can celebrate our 251st birthday in this country instead of turning all power over to a would-be king.”

Would-be king? This is the same unhinged rhetoric Democrats have been peddling since 2016.

After his anti-Trump screed, Doggett finally got around to praising America — but only after making sure everyone knew he opposes the administration.

“We’re the greatest country on earth. We’re innovative, we’re smart, we make sure that we promote our values, our liberties and justice and freedom. We’re always trying to perfect our union, but at the same time, we were the great experiment of democracy and it’s been a rousing success.”

Rep. Mark Pocan from Wisconsin offered lukewarm praise wrapped in qualifiers.

“The freedoms that we have and the fact that anyone should be able to get ahead for them and their family based on the laws we have every now and then — in general, it’s sound.”

“Every now and then”? “In general”?

That’s the best they can muster?

Rep. Shri Thanedar of Michigan, who immigrated from India in 1979, at least acknowledged American exceptionalism — though he couldn’t resist taking a shot at the administration.

“This is a great country. You know, we are a country of immigrants. Immigrants have contributed so much to our country, and you know this is the greatest country on earth. I am so proud to call myself an American citizen, although there are some concerns with the new administration.”

Republicans, by contrast, gave straightforward answers celebrating the founding principles that built this nation.

Rep. Glenn Grothman from Wisconsin pointed to the Constitution as the foundation of American prosperity.

“I guess our Constitution and all the freedoms we have that other countries don’t have, which results in us being so much wealthier than other countries — not that that’s the main thing. But you look at your average American with a front yard and backyard, they don’t even have that in Western Europe, they don’t have that in Israel, they have it in other top countries. We’ve got it here in the United States.”

“So, I think the combination between the material wealth which impresses you and a Christian nation which is also so tremendous.”

Rep. Cory Mills from Florida emphasized the American willingness to defend freedom.

“We’re a nation who’s willing to understand peace through strength. And we’re a nation that has been willing to go ahead and pledge our lives to keep the freedoms that we have here that no other nation like ours has seen.”

The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Republicans celebrated America’s founding ideals, the Constitution, and the sacrifices that preserve freedom.

Democrats turned a patriotic question into another Trump-bashing session — and in Al Green’s case, couldn’t even pretend to care about the country on its birthday.

When a sitting congressman can’t answer ‘Are you proud to be American?’ without pivoting to impeachment, you know the Left has lost the plot. Working families across the heartland don’t wake up obsessing over Trump — they’re worried about jobs, groceries, and keeping their communities safe. The Democrat Party’s Trump Derangement Syndrome has become a full-blown addiction, and it’s costing them any connection to regular Americans who still love this country without apology.
