Rep. Ro Khanna made the shocking declaration that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested by American authorities. When pressed about the dangerous precedent this could set for Americans traveling overseas, Khanna brushed aside those legitimate concerns.

The far-left Democrat’s call to arrest the leader of America’s most important Middle East ally represents a new low in the growing anti-Israel movement taking over his party. Netanyahu leads a democratic nation that has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the United States for decades through multiple wars and terrorist threats.

Khanna’s reckless suggestion ignores basic diplomatic protocol and international relations. No serious foreign policy expert would advocate arresting the head of state of a friendly nation on American soil.

Israel remains the only true democracy in the Middle East and a vital counterweight to Iranian aggression in the region. Weakening that relationship serves nobody’s interests except our enemies.
