U.S. fighter aircraft moved swiftly after the unprovoked shootdown, eliminating Iranian air defense systems, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that posed direct threats to vessels moving through regional waters.

“The measured and deliberate strikes occurred on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters.”

The Pentagon reported zero American casualties from the operation. CENTCOM made clear this wasn’t a one-off response but part of an ongoing commitment to protect U.S. personnel and interests from Iranian hostility.

“No American service members were harmed. CENTCOM will continue to protect U.S. assets and interests in response to unwarranted Iranian aggression during the ongoing ceasefire.”
