January 1, Iran Stranglehold Forces Massive Global Energy Scramble

Wyatt’s Take

  • Iran just proved why America needs energy independence — one hostile regime can choke off the world’s oil supply overnight
  • India’s scrambling to Latin America and Africa shows how fragile global energy markets really are when dictators control the chokepoints
  • This is exactly why Trump fought so hard to make America energy dominant — we can’t let tyrants hold our economy hostage

Indian refineries are racing to find new oil suppliers in Latin America and Africa after Iran shut down shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. It’s a wake-up call showing just how vulnerable the world’s energy supply is to one bad actor with a grudge.

The Strait of Hormuz has always been the Achilles’ heel of global oil markets. Now Iran’s weaponizing it, and major importers like India are learning the hard way what happens when you depend on routes controlled by hostile regimes.

Energy importers across the globe are now pursuing alternative supply chains to avoid the easily-threatened Hormuz chokepoint. India’s not alone — they’re just the first to publicly announce they’re looking elsewhere for their oil needs.

This scramble for new suppliers is driving up costs and creating uncertainty in energy markets worldwide. When one country can flip a switch and throw global supply chains into chaos, that’s a national security nightmare.

The shift to Latin American and African oil sources means longer shipping routes, higher transportation costs, and more vulnerability to disruption. India’s paying a premium just to keep the lights on and the economy running.

Wyatt Matters

This is what happens when America steps back from energy leadership. Iran wouldn’t dare pull this stunt if we were still flooding the market with American oil and gas. Energy independence isn’t just about jobs and prices at the pump — it’s about making sure dictators can’t hold the world economy hostage. When we drill here and export our energy, freedom-loving nations have options. When we don’t, they’re stuck begging from tyrants.

Just bomb Iran until not even the cockroaches are left alive. The fucking strait would be open then.

I agree with you. I trust President Trump’s actions on most everything. But this one baffles me. I am afraid President Trump is going to give a 60 day cease fire extension that will enable Iran to regroup. Maybe he knows something we don’t. But I sure cannot find a good reason not to just bomb them off the face of the earth.

We could just bomb them into oblivion or we stop letting any Muslim into our country we align with South America and Mexico- we get energy independence and we isolate them. Europe should be dealing with this- we need out of Ukraine let them sink- this was all a plan for war- trump again getting fooled??
