Florida’s Democrat Senate candidate Angie Nixon is trying to rewrite her own history, scrambling to distance herself from socialism despite holding an official membership card in the Democratic Socialists of America.

Nixon joined the DSA—the same far-left organization that counts Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib as members. But now that she’s facing Florida voters in a Senate race, suddenly she wants nothing to do with the socialist label.

It’s a classic bait-and-switch. Join the most radical socialist organization in American politics when it helps you climb the progressive ladder in deep-blue districts.

Then pretend you never heard of Karl Marx when you need swing voters and moderates to win statewide.

The Democratic Socialists of America aren’t shy about their goals. They want government-run healthcare, massive tax hikes on working families, open borders, and the Green New Deal boondoggle that would destroy Florida’s economy overnight.

Nixon was perfectly comfortable signing up for all of that. She wore the DSA badge with pride—until the polls told her it was political poison.

Floridians aren’t buying it. They’ve watched blue states crumble under socialist policies—skyrocketing crime, businesses fleeing, middle-class families crushed by inflation and regulations.

That’s exactly what Nixon and her DSA pals want to bring to the Sunshine State.

Her campaign is now in full damage control mode, trying to memory-hole her socialist membership like it never happened. But the receipts don’t lie.

She joined the DSA voluntarily. She aligned herself with their radical platform.

And now she expects voters to forget all about it.
