January 1, FBI Director Drops Bombshell Numbers After Trump’s Historic DC Crackdown

Wyatt’s Take
- President Trump deployed federal agents and National Guard to take back our nation’s capital from violent criminals — and the results are staggering
- Over 6,000 arrests, nearly 2,000 drug busts, 1,300 illegal guns seized, and homicides down a jaw-dropping 44% in just one year
- Democrats screamed about ‘legality’ while Americans were getting murdered — Trump ignored them and saved lives
The FBI just released numbers that prove President Trump was right all along about Washington, D.C.’s out-of-control crime crisis. One year after launching his Safe and Beautiful initiative, the nation’s capital is experiencing a law enforcement turnaround that Democrats said was impossible.
FBI Director Kash Patel didn’t mince words when describing the historic achievement.
“Last summer President Trump made the historic decision to surge federal resources to Washington D.C. to crack down on crime – and thanks to his brilliant leadership, the work of brave FBI agents and our law enforcement partners, and the support of our Justice Department, our nation’s capital is now safer than it’s been in decades.”
The numbers tell a story that the mainstream media doesn’t want you to hear. Since Trump deployed hundreds of federal agents and National Guard troops to the streets of D.C., law enforcement has made over 6,000 arrests. They’ve executed 237 search warrants and seized nearly 2,000 batches of illegal drugs.
More than 1,300 illegal firearms have been taken off the streets — weapons that would have been used to terrorize innocent Americans.
But here’s the number that matters most to families in our nation’s capital: homicides are down 44% compared to last year. That’s not a typo. Nearly half as many murders.
The FBI also reported recovering over $252,000 in cash tied to criminal operations.
Patel made clear this is just the beginning.
“The greatest country on earth should have a capital city reflecting it – where American taxpayers can live, visit, and petition their government without fear of violent crime.”
“Thanks to President Trump and brave law enforcement, one year later we have made historic progress to that end, and the work will only continue.”
Trump’s decision to surge federal resources came after a series of brutal crimes shocked the nation. A 21-year-old congressional intern named Eric Tarpinian was murdered in June 2025. A former government staffer was beaten on the streets. A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in a case involving alleged MS-13 gang members.
While Americans were being killed, Democratic leaders threw a fit about Trump sending help.
Then-Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser had the audacity to question the legality of protecting American citizens.
“I don’t think it’s legal, let me start there, for the National Guard to police Americans on American soil.”
Apparently Bowser thought it was more “legal” to let gang members roam free and murder teenagers. Trump ignored the political whining and did what needed to be done — he sent in the cavalry and took back America’s capital city from the criminals who had turned it into a war zone.
The results speak for themselves. Thousands of dangerous criminals behind bars. Thousands of illegal guns off the streets. Homicides cut nearly in half.
Why It Matters
For decades, working Americans have watched our major cities descend into chaos while politicians made excuses and blamed everyone but themselves. President Trump proved that when you actually enforce the law and support police, crime goes down. It’s not complicated. The same approach that’s working in D.C. can work in every American city — if we have leaders with the backbone to do what’s right instead of what’s politically correct. Our families deserve to feel safe in their own communities, and Trump just showed us exactly how to make that happen.

Thank you, President Trump, for getting the much needed help to save our cities from violence, and settling an example in D. C.
Our cities need to be free of violence to protect the citizens living there and people who visit. You have been doing what is necessary for all of us.
Thank you,
Peggy, a Florida resident
