I agree with Old Patriot. Perhaps you chose the wrong convict and family to profile. You mention “ordinary families” a couple of times; seemingly oblivious to the fact that this guy’s family has already hit up the “community” for donations for his first trial. The family admitted to using these funds to buy a house, new vehicles, etc.; nothing related to his defense. I do not believe “ordinary families” behave this way when the freedom of a loved one is on the line. But I don’t think Anthony is an ordinary defendant. He very obviously has some anger issues, and purposely went to the wrong tent – with a knife – and attempted several times to provoke a fight. He fully intended to injure or kill someone that day. There’s not too much gray in this case; and I don’t know how other “ordinary” people feel about giving money to allegedly fund an defense for such a violent person, only to have the family use it to fund their lifestyle, but I would sure be unhappy. The fact that they’re asking for more money speaks volumes about their lack of self-awareness and their entitlement. I think the public’s money is better spent in the taxes to keep him away from society. For the record, I will not be donating to his appeal, nor his family’s spending habits.

This family is living large on gofund me money ,its obvious they dont really about their criminal son its sbout ccars snd houses.
